Caminada: fitness and social sustainability
Would you like to do something to promote health and fitness, and improve staff performance at the same time? And support a social project as well?
It’s not possible to do all this at the same time! (Is that what you’re thinking?). One idea that came from a member of staff on our book project (subject: sustainability) is about to change all that. Climbing stairs is the cheapest form of sport. Climbing four flights a day increases fitness and reduces the risk of heart and circulatory diseases by 40%. All staff – and customers – who climb the stairs to the fourth floor receive a token.
The person who has climbed the stairs then drops this token into a container placed in reception. At the end of each month, Caminada pays one franc per token into a special account. This money will be used to support useful and sustainable social projects.
Any member of staff can propose projects and the entire workforce makes a joint decision on which project(s) should be supported, and to what extent. We will take the opportunity to report on the results of this action.
Naturally, individual participants are also free to make their own financial contribution to the project when they climb the stairs (or simply whenever they wish).
